Hi Everyone!

I trust you all had a great January!

We certainly did at Food For change – hitting a milestone that I set when I founded the charity to provide over 500,000 meals!! The big shock is how quick we have achieved this milestone. When we did our first planting in Feb 2017 on our Clayton Farm I thought if we could just do 10 to 20 thousand meals a year that would be amazing. Never in my wildest dreams did I think would I write that this year alone we will do another 500,000 meals!!

And it could not be done without our amazing team who work behind the scene, the volunteers on our farms, the donors and people who are subscribing to our food boxes, the team at Metcash and all our corporate supporters and all the other thousands of small bits of help over the first 4 years.

Our combined efforts have made a huge difference to the lives of so many Australians and I thank you all.

THE FOOD BOX

The most anticipated time has finally come! The organic food boxes, which are packed and shipped by In2Food, are rolling out the first week of February. However, you don’t have to wait to get those preorders in … the link below can direct you to Food For Change’s website to get those orders in now. Each box is filled with

monthly vegetables, fruits, and herbs. This changes from month to month, so each box is a surprise. Included is a Good Foundation recipe card, Goodwill wine (if added to the box), and around 9kg of food. Each box is $70 which includes the delivery fee.

We couldn’t be more excited about these food boxes, and our hope is that you enjoy it as much as we have putting it together!

THE GOOD FOUNDATION

One of Food For Change’s partners during this process is The Good Foundation, Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food. Each food box includes a delicious recipe card that incorporates a vegetable or fruit in the box, and top tips from Jamie Oliver. For the month of February, the star of the show may or may not be zucchini … Each month’s recipes look very yummy! Be sure to snap and post a couple of photos of your dishes and tag Food For Change on your social media.

Since The Good Foundation provides basic cooking courses for all skill levels, $10 from the sale of each food box will go towards helping more Australians receive access to these programs.

We cannot wait to see what you all create!

“WE’RE THRILLED TO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN AS FOOD FOR CHANGE’S CHARITY PARTNER … ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO EAT MORE FRUIT AND VEG IS AT THE CORE OF WHAT WE DO, SO WE ARE PLEASED TO PARTNER WITH SUCH A LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATION. “

GOODWILL WINE

The best pairing to a delicious meal is a glass of wine. All food box orders placed in the month of January will receive a complimentary bottle of Goodwill wine. After January, there will be an option to include wine in your order.

What is Goodwill Wine? This company sells high-quality wine

at a below cellar-door price. With any purchase of Goodwill wine, 50% of the profits goes to a charity. Food For Change is excited to partner with Goodwill Wine because this money will be recycled back into the nonprofit, thereby helping lower food insecurity in Australia.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

With the selling and purchasing of the food boxes, Food For Change is receiving money that will be put back into the nonprofit. The intention of these food boxes is to spread sustainability practices within the household. Our creative recipe cards give inspiration to individuals and families for delicious meals.

As of right now, Food For Change relies on grants and individual donations to keep Food For Change afloat. These food boxes will allow a consistent revenue stream that will be used to further the nonprofit.

“IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION IN A WORLD WITH MANY UNKNOWNS. A SIMPLE ACT OF KINDNESS CAN GROW AND MULTIPLY, THEREBY UNITING US AS ONE. “

WHY PURCHASE A FOOD BOX?

In the last couple of weeks, Food For Change has been posting and sharing a lot of information about our new food boxes. The question comes down to “Why purchase a food box?”

These boxes are full of fresh produce that can be used for every meal (9 kilograms of vegetables,

fruits, and herbs). The price is $70 which includes delivery. Lastly and most importantly, this helps those directly in your community!

Our hope is that you take the time to order a box, and then let us know your feedback.
